Custom Radio Transmitters

maxresdefault_edited_edited.png

Radio module

The most important part is choosing the radio module according to our requirements such as range, capability, transfer rate, budget, size .etc

In my case i liked the nrf24l01 modules since they are cheap, locally available and offer ranges upto a km with data transfer rate upto 2mbps.

Construction

This varies from one module to other .In my case i had to supply clock ,MISO and MOSI along with data and enable pin while there are some other modules requiring just the tx and rx pins.
Other is power supply which also varies in my case 3.6v.

Assembling

Well I started with the regular design od transmitters and added a 16x2 lcd display to it.I used to joystick out of which i removed the spring of the throttle one and connected their pot pins to analog input of the arduino. Then used the Lcd to print my name and throttle and yaw values as they both had a common spring hence the yaw also has to be kept in balance.

Bonus:I used the ack capability of nrf to receive the battery voltage and printed on the Lcd.This would avoid the craft from failing due to low voltage or overdischarge .
